Day by day, you slowly age

How long you’ve been doing this, you can’t even gauge

Do you think you can continue that much more?

“Yes, of course.” as you continue to pour

You don’t even distinguish day and night

While every time you look in the mirror, more with fright

As you age a year in a single day

“Why can’t this all just be over?” You pray

But you also are reminded of that pact you made

With the Devil himself, the price you must now pay

To be tormented on this earth, day in and day out

“I don’t need to protect myself”, you used to flout

As your bones get brittle, your mind slowly rots

What once were beautiful blue eyes, are now tiny black dots

Your strength you had, the love you once shared

All is now gone, just your pupils everyday, stared

And these eyes, are they actually your own?

They certainly don’t hold the soul you once had known

So you’re condemned to roam this earth, bereft of joy

Just another one of Satan’s pawns, just another toy.
